Geoff and Jonathan (Turbo GTP) went out to Denton last night for a little grudge racing. He may several passes but caught hell from the track personell. He didn't have a helmet and since he was FWD they would not let him do a burnout.

They made him drive around the water box to the starting line. The best sixty he could get was a 2.0. His best pass was a 8.15 @ 91mph!

He has some video, whenever he puts it on the net, I'll post the link. On that 8.15 pass he ran a red late model Camaro SS, the SS ran a 7.90 @ 88mph. Geoff was catching him on the big end. LOL

Needless to say that the Camaro guy came over to Geoff in the pits and wanted to know how in the hell he ran 91mph. LOL

BWAAHAHAHAHAHA! That is a killer! You are going to have to keep him from blowing it up before Noble.

Why can't they allow fwd burnouts? I've seen imports there do them before... heck, I thought I had anyway.

They were saying he would drag water to the starting line with his rear tires. Which is pure BS. Screw Denton! Don't RWD cars do the same thing with there front tires?

was he running slicks? usually if you have slicks they dont care, but if there was a big crowd they might have changedsome stuff up.. also 8.19 without helmet? they tell him no after that? and yes rwd cars without front runners do bring water to starting line, that's why I now ,with slicks, back up to box to do burnout, I don't spin off line when I do this...

He was running ET street radials. It took him a few passes before they said anything about the helmet. I don't they were paying much attention to him. OhMyGod LOL

I think he is just getting use to the idea that this car now runs fast enough for him to have to have a helmet. LOL But the no burnout thing is BS and they told him on the first pass. He did it anyway (rolled through the water) a couple of times.

The problem is he is FWD. He can't do a burnout without going through the water.

They must have had some new guy out there - I've never seen them make you drive around. I used to take my old truck out there and went right through the water on stock tires. I've been out there a ton in the Mustang on DR's and never been told to drive around. Maybe they'll fire that guy :)
