Trying to get going again in club functions. Some people know me, others that dont hopefully will.
Little background on me is my first car I owned was a 72 Skylark with a 350. Just drove the snot out of it. Not too fast but not a complete slug. Water pump went out and I think I broke every bolt that held the thing on. That required me (in my mind) to pull intake, heads, dash, trunk lid, back tires....you get the drift. Tore up a pretty decent car for a water pump job. Dad had that car picked up for $50. or so as "junk".
Best friend (still to this day 34 years later) dad did not want to pay child support anymore. Im thinking he was 15 at the time.He worked out an arrangement that his son would pay his mom the rest of the child support for a car he gave him.Car at that time to 98% of the population was not cool. Was to me and my buddy. Car is/was a 1969 GS 400 Stage 1 4 speed. He got the car Im guessing around 1983. We beat on that car pretty good. He didnt have much money then and kept going thru clutches often. He pulled the 4 speed and added an automatic. Performed a 1 car garage restification and never was happy with it. He built a pretty stout 455 and we raced it for a couple of seasons. After racing, the car sat. He still owns it and is looking towards getting it going again soon.
I purchased a 1970 GS 455. Bought it in 1990 or so.Car was bone stock. Little over 100k miles. Still had the GM stock exhaust and 3 rib heater hoses on it. AM radio still in dash. Car was (for my taste) slow so I paid a few engine builders a pretty good chunk of money to build me something stout. Short story is I got hosed on both deals and it killed my "want to" for a while.Car since Ive owned it, I may have put 500 miles on it in the past 20 years. It sits in the garage with no engine. Once the current car in the works is running, this one goes to the shop for a restoration. Want this one pretty nice.

In 2003 I bought a relatively low mileage (18,000 mile), low optioned 1987 GN and that was cool for a little while. Car was pretty pristine and it seemed the more non-Buick related shows I took it to, the more scratches it would get. My car show tour lasted about 2 years and out of aggreviation.Drove the car occasionally for a few years. I parked the car in 2009. I probably have started it twice since then. I should have just stuck with the Buick shows and I wouldnt have had that problem, but for a while winning those little trophies was cool. Never won anything at the Buick shows but everywhere else it did well.(local shows) Last time I had it inspected the hair brain tech drove it off the dyno while performing the emission test and almost hit the shop door with it. I need to start driving it or sell the thing. Its pretty dang dusty in the garage. Car now has a little over 19k miles.

5 years ago I bought a 1970 Skylark. It looks pretty decent. Paint looks better than fair. Has a GSX theme with paint, spoiler. Car was sitting since I bought it and the Noble race inspired me as a deadline to try to go to that event. Threw some money at it, had engine built, trans, interior facelift etc. Should have it streetable in a couple of weeks.

Moral of the story, Have 3 Buicks and havent done much for a long time. Hope to get more going in the future.
